Unit Camp 2018

During the first week in the Nov/Dec School Holidays, Montfort NPCC had its Annual Unit Camp. The Cadet Leaders together with the Cadet Inspectors had planned a whole lot of activities for the Secondary 1 and 2 cadets. They had a navigation activity, outdoor cooking and ice breakets to strengthen the bonds between squadmates of each squad. This will definetely be a memorable event for each and every one of the cadets especially for the Secondary 1 Cadets as it was their first camp with the unit. This is definitely a key milestone in the Cadets' journey in NPCC.

Founder"s Day 2018

This year, Montfort NPCC had a chance to conduct a parade to welcome the guest of honour. As per normal, the parade was conducted smoothly and with precision. All the guests and principals of the Montfort Schools were impressed by us. We would like to thank the Teacher Officers, Alumni for coming back during rehearsals to train the cadets. Shooting Enrichment 2018

 

The Secondary 2 and 3 Cadets had a shooting enrichment to prepare them for the .22 revolver shoot and increase the chances for them to get a marksmanship badge. They also learned new tactics on how to shoot accurately and quickly at their target.

Passing Out Parade

                        

On 13 April 2018, the 2017/2018 batch of Cadet Leaders had their Passing Out Parade (POP). The Secondary Three and Secondary Four had persevered throughout the rehearsals and the actual parade and they have successfully pulled through the parade. We would like to thank all the alumni who had come down and have lent a helping hand.

ATC/STC 2018

This year's ATC/STC was held between 2-4 February. The Secondary 2 and 3 cadets had a lot of activities such as trekking ,flying fox and outdoor cooking. They had lots of fun during these activities and this also provided them with an opportunity for them to bond with other schools from the same area."During these camp we had activities such as trekking which was tiring but fun and enjoyable. Furthermore, although I was scared to try the flying fox, after doing it I was more confident of myself. However, what bothers me most is that we were not able to pitch tent this year due to the constant rain. Overall this camp was an eye-opening experience for me."- SGT(NPCC)Bryan

Campcraft Competition 2018

This year the Cadet Leaders and the Secondary 3 Cadets had an opportunity to showcase their talent for camp craft. There were two teams which took part and these two teams had put in a lot of effort to practice their skills in pitching tents and building gadgets for everyday use. Therefore as fruits for labour, team 1 emerged in the Top 20 and Team 2 emerged in Top 50. We are very proud of them and we would like to thank the alumni for coming for each camp craft practice session and helping us spot our mistakes.

CCA Orientation 2018

On 6 January 2018, Montfort Secondary School had its CCA orientation to provide an opportunity for Secondary 1 students to view each CCA's booth to select their preferred CCA. Therefore, Montfort NPCC unit had created a booth that showcased the various ranks, badges, rifles, batons and the CSI kit . The Secondary 1 students had an opportunity to have a hands-on activity to identify fingerprints. Furthermore, the Cadet Leaders had a skit to simulate a terrorist attack. Moreover, Montfort NPCC and the Montfort NCDCC unit had collaborated to come up with a skit to reinforce the importance of SG secure. "I really think that the skit was very eye-pleasing to watch and it had lots of learning points such as to keep a lookout for suspicious people where ever I go. Moreover, this skit actually made me attracted to join NPCC."-  Ian, Secondary 1 Cadet

Unit Camp 2017

Unit Camp 2017 was held on 3rd to 4th November. In the camp there were various fun activities like Amazing Race, Performance Session and Punggol Park Expedition was planned by the Cadet Leaders for their fellow cadets. "This camp was a meaningful one for me as this was my first time as an instructor in a camp and also the first time I plan for a camp I surely had a lot of takeaways with me after this camp."-Staff Seargent(NPCC) M Agiilan

 

Combined UG Archery

                                     
On 25th August 2017, a game of Archery was organised for the Secondary 1 Students. By the look of their faces after the games and as seen in the picture above it can be inferred that they truly enjoyed the Archery Game.

Inter-Unit Drill Competition

On 12 August 2017, 13 of our cadets took part in the Inter-Unit Drill Competition.The cadets taking part trained for several tiring weeks to ensure that we will do our Unit Proud and Yes! they have done the unit proud by obtaining Top 30 in the Competition.

"I found drill competition meaningful as while training for the Drill Competition we learnt discipline when we were training for the competition as all of us had the discipline to attend every training. ATC/STC 2017

 

On 4th-6th August 2017, the Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 Cadets had taken part in ATC and STC respectively. All of them had fun in the activities that took place there.

Games Day and Sec 1 Swearing-In 2017

                                                   









On 30 June 2017, Games day and Sec 1 Swearing-In was held at Serangoon Secondary School. The Cadet Leaders had planned a Frisbee game for the Games Day. The Sec 1s had really enjoyed the Games Day and they have definetley the value of Teamwork.

Nanyang Girls School's Inter-Unit Competition

     
On 7th June 2017, the 3 Heads of the Unit and Seargent(NPCC)Azri had took part in an Inter-Unit Competition organised by Nanyang Girls School. The 4 of them had a worth while there and they would love to take part in future and similar competitions like this. We would like to thank Nanyang Girls School on organising this fun competition and also on hosting the four of them.

NPCC Day 2017

On 25th May 2017, Our unit had a mini drill showcase and also the NPCC Day message was read by Sir Eugene Ong. The cadets had actively took part in the mini drill showcase and from this it can be inferred that they were proud to be participating in it.

SG Secure Booth at MJS

 
On 10th April, Sec 2 NPCC AND NCDCC Cadets had come together to set up a SG Secure booth at Montfort Junior. Our Sec 2 NPCC Cadets had come up with a skit where one of them donned the role of a Suspicious person and then the Montfort Junior Students had to find out where the suspicious person was.
 "At first my entire squad and i thought that the entire SG Secure project was going to be easy and boring because we thought that the students would not want to participate in our activities however it surpassed my expectation as the student were actively participating in our event. One of our squadmate even got hit in the groin while being chased by the primary students while other of my squad mates acted like bodyguards to the "terrorist" which the students were supposed to find in oder to get a reward. My squad mates and i have also learnt alot through this event and we wouldnt mind doing it again"- Lance Corporal(NPCC) Jie An

Shooting Enrichment 2017

On 8 April 2017, Cadet Leaders and the Secondary 2 Cadets took part in the Shooting Enrichment Course which was held in school. The purpose of the enrichment was to help the Cadet Leaders and the Secondary 2 cadets to get their Marksmanship badge.The enrichment has taught the Cadets how to aim and shoot accurately. The enrichment was enriching as the instructors were helpful and also enthusiastic as well.  This enrichment was 4 hours long, and in the 4 hours, it is evident that the Cadets have learnt something through this enrichment course as 11 cadet leaders had obtained their Marksmanship Badge and we would like to congratulate them. Lastly, we would like to thank the trainers for their dedication towards teaching us.

2016 ASEAN University Games

Dear all,

On 14th and 15th of July, 4 of our cadet leaders, Sergeant (NPCC) Shankar, Sergeant (NPCC) Janson Teh, Sergeant (NPCC) Russell Koh and Sergeant (NPCC) Jared Tan of Montfort Secondary School participated as the flag raisers during the 2016 ASEAN University Games. Before the actual day itself, they had to attend trainings to execute the flag raising ceremony properly. Their attitude and commitment to the training dates paid off as during the actual day itself, the flag raising ceremony was executed properly. Well done guys!

Montfort NPCC Kayaking

Dear all,

On the 5th of September 2016, our secondary 2 and 3 cadets went for their kayaking course hosted by the Singapore Canoe Federation. The purpose of this course is to get the cadets to attain their kayak badge and also, experience for future kayak journeys. The course was 2 days long and it taught the cadets the basics of kayaking like parts of the kayaks and how to kayak.  The cadets were also required to pass a test on the last day to earn their certificate of achievement. The course itself was interesting with the instructors being very helpful and enthusiastic throughout the entire course. In the end, almost all our cadets passed the test and we are all very proud of those who attended this course! Lastly, we would like to thank the Singapore Canoe Federation for teaching and guiding our cadets to learn how to kayak.

PYA Project

Dear all,

On the 15th, 16th and 17th of November, our cadet leader trainees and cadet leaders took part in the PYA programme, assisted by Hougang NPC. Before the programme itself, our cadets had to go through a cycling course that will certify them to be a safe cyclist. During the actual event, some cadets will be cycling while others will be on foot. Police officers from Hougang NPC were there to guide and lead the cadets during the event. Some of the cadets were even lucky enough to view the police officers detain some residents around the neighbourhood for unlawful acts. In the end, our cadets get to experience a rare occasion where they get to patrol the neighbourhood with the police and learn how the Singapore Police Force operate in our everyday lives, keeping the country safe. Lastly, Montfort NPCC would like to thank the police officers of Hougang NPC for arranging and executing the programme.
